Watch Me ‘Whip/Nae Nae’ Rapper Silento Charged With The Murder Of His Cousin

Rapper Silento, known for the hit song “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae),” has been making controversial headlines lately. Last year, he went viral after his supposed n*de picture leaked online.

Well, Silento was arrested Monday in Dekalb County and hit with a murder charge for the shooting death of his cousin.

According to Atlanta News Now, Ricky Lamar Hawk, 23, was booked on one count of murder. Back on Jan. 21, police responded to a call about shots fired in the Panthersville area around 3:30 am. When they arrived they found Frederick Rooks, 34, dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.

At the time, investigators had no information about the suspect. “However, after a thorough investigation, DKPD detectives identified Silento as Frederick’s cousin, and the man responsible for his murder,” police spokeswoman Michaela Vincent said in a statement.

‘Responding officers were able to gather video from multiple residents’ security cameras, according to the incident report.

The video showed several cars fleeing the scene at high speeds, and the footage captured at least one gunshot. Eight bullet casings were collected at the scene, the report said.’
