Dave Chappelle had to cancel all of his Texas stand-up performances after discovering that he contracted coronavirus. The comedian has since been quarantining after testing positive, but has not yet experienced any symptoms.
On Wednesday, he performed the first of five shows he had scheduled in Austin. He has been performing socially-distanced comedy shows since June on his farm in Ohio.
Following his first show earlier this week, Chappelle was spotted hanging out backstage at Stubb’s Amphitheater in Austin with his arms thrown around Joe Rogan, Elon Musk, and Grimes, none of whom were wearing masks.
However, Rogan later clarified to TMZ, “Because people are asking, I was not exposed to the person who had covid and I have tested negative every day this week. Also, the person that gave covid to Dave was not Elon’s partner, Grimes.”
Last week, Grimes announced on her Instagram Stories that she had, “Finally got COVID,” but was “weirdly enjoying the DayQuil fever dream.”
Joe Rogan has also been doing damage control, denying that they were exposed to the person who had COVID. Let alone it being the wife of the Tesla billionaire.
