FG Reveals Why Vehicles Worth ₦1.4 Billion Was Bought For Niger Republic

A report shared by Nigerian journalist, David Hundeyin reveals a bill signed by President Muhammadu Buhari to buy vehicles worth 1.4 billion naira for Nigeria’s neighboring country, Niger Republic is currently making rounds on social media. According to the document shared by the journalist, president Buhari signed the approval on the 2nd of February 2022.

In response to the report making rounds on social media, the federal government has revealed why the vehicles were bought for Niger Republic.

Zainab Ahmed, the Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning confirmed the purchasing of the vehicles was approved by President Buhari.

She said that the financial support rendered by the Nigerian government was primarily made to enhance the capacity to protect their territory, she said that it was based on a request by the Nigerian government, and its also for the best interest of the country.

According to reports, she said this on Wednesday after a Federal Executive Council meeting.
