Buhari’s Decision To Donate Cars To Niger Republic Is Not Wrong – Humphrey Orjiakor

Ambassador Humphrey Orjiakor, Nigeria’s Former Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, have disclosed that Buhari’s decision to gift cars to the government of Niger Republic is not wrong.

According to Orjiakor who spoke with Arise TV, Buhari’s decision to donate the cars worth over N1 billion to the Niger Republic security forces will also help Nigeria. Orjiakor explained that since Niger Republic is Nigeria’s neighbor, it is not wrong for Nigeria to offer help to Republic because if Niger is secure, it will prevent criminal elements from Niger Republic from coming into Nigeria to commit crime.

Orjiakor went on to explain that Nigerians should not condemn Buhari’s decision because the reason he gave for giving the car gifts to Niger Republic is understandable. However, Orjiakor noted that instead of speaking again st Buhari, Nigerians should know that it was the failure of the Nigerian government’s communication and information systems to properly communicate with Nigerians that is causing the current public outcry.

According to Orjiakor, the silence of the government’s communication, information systems, and the ministry of information in addressing Nigerians on matters of the nature is worrisome. According to Orjiakor, the government’s communication, information systems, and the ministry of information are the ones that are failing the Nigerian government and Nigerians.
