Asantehene Should Have Said This Long Ago – Unhappy NDC Communicator Speaks

We can recall that, the Ashanti King Otumfuo Osei Tutu II delivered a lecture recently at the University of Memphis in the United States of America, where he made a huge remark that, “democracy in Africa should not be all about elections”.

Following this, Eric Adjei who happens to be part of the Communication Team of the opposition NDC has commended the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for such a delivery in the USA, but has proven unhappy with something about the Asantehene.

Apparently from his delivery in USA, the Asante Hene strongly believes that, no system of governance in Africa would survive unless it was rooted very deeply in and firmly nourished by the people’s culture.

Following this in a discussion on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ morning show, Eric Adjei reacting to Asantehene’s lecture said; “Although Asantehene’s comment is commendable, but I think the statements he made should have come from him long time ago here in Ghana, but I commend him for the truth he spoke”.

He further added that, he should have said it long ago here because of the charlatans we have here in the country.

“We have a lot of problems here in the country and many charlatans as part of it. We have religious men and traditional authorities who don’t speak the truth”.
